WP2: Web Repository of Structuring Tools for Standardization and Exchange of Data, MetaData and Semantics.

This site is a Web repository accessible to the partners of the MUSCLE Network of Excellence.

The web site has been organised as follows:

Home page: summarise the WP9 objectives.
Standard section: describes the characteristics of the most relevant multimedia metadata standards.
Framework section: indicates the classes of standards offering the possibility of integrating more metadata standards mapped onto different application domains, providing reach metadata models for media descriptions togheter with languages allowing one to define other description shemes for arbitrary domains.
Document section: is a password restricted area that lists interesting documents, including deliverables, JPAs, presentations and uploaded documents.
Link section: contains active links to organizations related with metadata.
Staff section: includes the ISTI-CNR personnel involved in the project
Help Desk: allows sending an email to the web master
Upload section: allows sending documents to the WP9 web site

For each Standards and Frameworks section,a specific link, named "Structuring Tools: Documentation and Software", is available. It contains documentation or the direct link to software.

These links can be:

Simply a document (e.g. a DTD)
a request to download the software (free or commercial)
directly the software program with its source or executable code. When the software can be executed directly, via web browser, the "web" word is indicated.
